TISCO Duplex Steel influences Natural Gas project
20 December 2018
In the vast desert of the Tarim Basin in Xinjiang, a 3.3-km “Pipeline Dragon” prototype is emerging. This is the construction site of the PetroChinaTarim oilfield natural gas reconstruction project located in the Aksu area of southern Xinjiang. The pipelines used in the project are made of TISCO duplex stainless steel, which is the largest single order for duplex stainless steel pipes in China.
Xinjiang is rich in natural gas, but due to insufficient pipe network construction and insufficient production capacity in southern Xinjiang, there has been a shortage of gas in nearby areas. The natural gas transformation project will be undertaken by CNPC. After completion, it will effectively increase gas production, ease the gas shortage in southern Xinjiang and inland China.
Duplex stainless steel pipe has high strength, strong corrosion resistance, short welding time, long service life, maintenance-free, green and environmental protection, which greatly reduces the overall cost, improves safety and ensures the steady increase of oil and gas production.
TISCO products have been applied to a number of large-scale projects of China Petroleum, such as the Sino-Russian east line, the Shaanxi-Beijing line 4, the West-East gas pipeline, central Asia, China-Myanmar pipeline.
